Our trip to Gdansk

We spent three days from the last week in Gdansk. I really liked that trip even if it was exhausting, even if I heard lots of times how others complained and even if I felt like :'Oh, I could sleep everywhere.' I've never thought I could fall asleep in tram.

So, how our foray looked like and what did we do ?

We did some sightseeing around Gdansk with a guide, who was acompanying us for those three days, and it took about four ours. We could watch monuments and shipyards, overcome two hundred stairs and marvel over panorama from a tower of  a church. We also visited Hel. There we spent time at the beach and watched seals. Another day we went to the Hewelianum Centre and Westerplatte. The first one was the centre of science where were interactive exhibitions and at the second one we could smell a bit of history of the Second World War out. Many of those attractions were tiring but fortunately we had some free time and a chance to take a rest or fun.

We played cards, games, took pictures at the beach and jumped on trampolines. I was eating the biggest slice of pizza and had the shortest night in my life. I spent a great time with my friends and classmates. It was this what I liked and enjoyed the most. I'm also happy and suprised that travel by the train to Gdansk was so comfortable.

Now, let's watch some pictures :)

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys & Florence and the Machine - favourite bands

Most of us have their favourite types of music, songs which can listen to over and over again, bands which love and concerts that is waiting for. I'm one of them. I have three cherished bands : Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys and Florence and the Machine.

The first rock band that I have completely fallen in love with have been RHCP. They have had quite big influence on music I listen to and I play the guitar. Their songs let me be better guitarits because those I've chosen were so challenging.

This Californian band has played since 80's so it's not the youngest group. RHCP combine funk and alternative rock with funk and rap.  My favourites songs are from the end of 90's and the beginning of 00's. I love By the way, Californication, Dani California, Don't forget me, My friends, Otherside, Scar tissue, Snow, Under the bridge and Around the World.

From the band I specially like Anthony Kiedis who's a lead singer and the founder and John Frusciante who is a guitarist but who was replaced in 2009 by Josh Klinghoffer. I'm so sad about it, I prefered Frusciante's times but there is one more thing I cry about... They are coming in June to Poland and having a concert at Open'er Festival to headline and I can't be there. I count on it's not going to be the last time when they are in Poland and I hope I'll be able to see them in the future.

I also love Arctic Monkeys. Their music style is gorgeous and their latest album (AM) is icredible ! I'm a big fan of Alex Turner's vocal and band's guitar sounds. Actually, Alex Turner also is going to be at Open'er but as a member of The Last Shadow Puppets.

This English group was formed in 2002 and plays indie and psychedelic rock. Arctic Monkeys have many fast and energy songs but also play slower songs and ballads or mix them together.

I could listen to Do I wanna know ?, Snap out of it, Fireside, Fluorescent Adolescent, I wanna be yours and many of AM album all the time when I want to listen to Monkeys. Another songs I like are : Teddy Picker, Murdy Bum, When the sun goes down and Fake tales of San Francisco.

The last band is Florence Welch's band called Florence and the Machine or Florence + the Machine. Her songs remind me of autumn evenings with hot tea and book, with sunny days and gold leaves outside. When I think 'Florence', I think 'red hair, long dress, ball, quite piano music in the background, jazz and 50's or 60's climate mixed with fun of youth'. Flo & the Machine play indie rock combine with pop and soul.

My two favourite albums are Ceremonials and Lungs. The first one is calm, beautiful and atmospheric and the second one is more rhytmical and energy but also combined with slowly songs.

It's really difficult to chose favourite songs from those albums because all are amazing but I can recommend you : Only if for a night, Shake it out, No light, no light, Never let me go, Dog days are over, Cosmic Love or Heavy in your arms. They are gorgegous !

And you know what ? Florence also will be a headliner at Open'er this year. It's so unfair that there will be my two favourite bands and the member of my third favourite and I won't be there ! I unfortunately missed Florence's last concert in December and I don't think there will be any Flo's concerts in Poland in close future but I'm sure I will have a chance to at the great one sometime.
