GB vs. U.S.A
Everybody knows that America and Great Britain are
two totally different countries. The difference isn't only in the distance
between these countries or in the size of them. At bottom, there are so many
distinctions among these entirely different worlds. I think that it’s good to
know it, and in my opinion this is interesting topic to write about, so,
let’s start :)
***
Language
The
first major difference is language. There are many types of English languages,
one of them are British English (is the form of English used in the U.K. It includes all English dialects used in the United Kingdom.) and American English(is the form of English used in the U.S.A. It includes all English dialects used in the United States.). We can find it when we
listen to common speech of Britain and American people. British people
emphasizes some words and letters stronger than Americans (it's explained on the video below) .
There are also many
dissimilarities of the transcription of the common words. (There are a few
examples in a box below.) In the European union, we use to
learn British English, because England is in Europe.
However, I think that it’s
a good decision cause I really like British language and it’s good to learn how to talk properly.

Culture and daily life
It could be too boring to read all the culture differences, so I decided to write, what I found interesting :)
-Newspapers are more common in UK: the tabloids are more widely read & don't really have US counterpart.
-American children's sports are far more serious & "professional" than in Britain.
-Americans are much prouder of their country.
-America is more legalistic & litigious. Lawyers are more feature of everyday life.
-There is no Thanksgiving nor equivalent. Christmas would be the only big day for seeing family.
-Americans are bigger. Taller & heavier. And a lot more very obese people. (24% of English, 36% of Americans)
-Pedestrians are more usual in UK.
-Britain is more egalitarian in culture.
-Universities. Americans are far more loyal to their university.
-Lunch time drinking happens more in UK.
-Drinking and getting drunk is more common and more acceptable in UK.
-Most all US restaurants offer the choice of tap water which is always free or bottled water for which you always pay extra.
-For Americans, toilet is a piece of porcelain. For the British, it is also a room that contains that particular piece of porcelain.
-Before an adjective, American quite means ‘very’, while British quite means ‘somewhat’
-Americans don’t use the word trousers much, and when they do, it only applies to menswear.
The differences are even in the arrangement of the computer keyboard.

Rundown
So as we can see, there are hundreds of even the most crazy differences between Great Britain and America.
We can perceive it in each part of daily life these two countries. On the first sight it could seem that there aren't so many distinctions, but we have to remember that each country is one and only and ultimate. :)
I hope you liked this post :)
